Donald Trump’s candidacy, presidency, and continuing influence have been compared to a religious cult. I could not agree more. While it appears that Trump has rewritten the laws of politics one only has to look to the oldest of institutions, religion, to appreciate how he operates and what he’s accomplished. Trumpism is not a political movement like socialism or communism. It’s a religion and its followers are sheeple. Catholicism, Mormonism, and Islam have nothing on Trumpism. Trump is convinced that he can literally “mold reality” into whatever he believes it to be. As a religion, Trumpism includes:

1. A figurehead, prophet, or deity (Trump) [take your pick]
2. An easily-offended, thin-skinned, and neurotic deity
3. Commandments
4. Motivation by fear
5. Creating an Us versus Them mentality (slay all non-believers)
6. Sell to fantasies and wishful thinking.
7. Simple language and parables (repeat it until you believe it).
8. Demands loyalty
9. Faith-based (facts and reason not necessary).
10. Women are second-class citizens.
11. Numerous contradictions
12. Persuade the uneducated, and disenfranchised, and gullible.
